Place has been a Westland carryout staple since I was a kid. (though they do offer dine-in). I've come to totally adore their curry - pork is my preference. 'hot' is right on the edge of what I can tolerate but it's so, so good. Generous portion, including meat portion (unless you order seafood, then it's skimp). This is probably my favorite carry-out meal in the area.

I'm sorry to write this kind of review but I had a terrible experience. I love Thai Food and eat it literally all the time, worked for a Thai place before (in a different state) and have been to Thailand. I ordered takeout from here. Tom Ka soup and the cold beef salad. The soup tasted nothing like Tom Ka. It was wattery, and cloudy and grainy. There was a grainy texture like maybe flour or something? I have no clue what was in it but that wasn't like any Tom Ka I've ever had. Tom Ka is one of my favorite Thai soups. I took a cooking class on how to make it, would prepare it where I worked, and have eaten it at many different places around the u.s and in Thailand. Home on vacation in Michigan I decide to give this place a shot and it was by far the worst Tom Ka I've ever had in my life.
The cold beef salad was just OK. Barely OK. But there was something off about it. It was a little bland, boring, and some odd flavors.
What promoted me to write this review is that the food had made me extremely sick. I am currently locked in my bathroom and not doing so well. I know it was this food and not something else. I can explain why I know, but that might be a little TMI. But trust me. Something was off. -

Thai City has been one of my favorite restaurants for years (15+). When my husband and I lived in Westland, we went there almost every Friday night. Now we visit about once a month. We love it for the food and the hospitality. Judy, one of the waitresses, knows our orders by heart. And if we throw her off one day by ordering something different, she gets a chuckle. She sometimes appears rushed (as she's usually the only one waiting tables) but she is efficient and offers great timely service.
My favorite dish is N4 which is Thai fried rice. I order mine with chicken and fresh mushrooms. It has large chunks of chicken, mushrooms, onions, peas, and carrots.
My husband likes anything he tries there. He tends to order C4 or C6 the most. Both are delicious in my book too.
If you are looking for great food, a cozy atmosphere, fast and efficient service, I highly suggest trying Thai City. It may become a favorite for you too. -

This is a great place for takeout. Portions are huge and dishes are good. All around good place if you have a big appetite for Asian food on a budget. They usually take 15-20 minutes and are relatively quick. Their pad Thai or fried rice dishes are a bargain for how much you get. Quality of ingredient are good too. Last time I got a shrimp fried rice and the shrimp were large and there were lots of it. They don't skimp out on you.
